I know this sounds too easy, but did  you log on?  The first thing you have
to do is to log on to the database in question with  your username and
password.

Any command I give, gives the same error. I saw all the BP. All are
running fine.

Any idea why this is happening?

SQL> select open_mode from v$database;
select open_mode from v$database
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01012 (See ORA-01012.ora-code.com): not logged on


SQL> desc v$database;
ERROR:
ORA-01034 (See ORA-01034.ora-code.com): ORACLE not available


SQL> select count(*) from v$session;
select count(*) from v$session
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01012 (See ORA-01012.ora-code.com): not logged on
